A lack of health and education facilities, the destruction of trees in the Hasdeo forest, and air pollution from coal ash are some of the issues at the forefront as the tribal-majority Korba Lok Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh prepares for elections on May 7. One of the two Lok Sabha seats that the Congress won in 2019 is Korba, and current MP Jyotsna Mahant is running to keep her seat against BJP national vice president Saroj Pandey.
